17 (6/29): Twisted pleats 3

Further experiments with twisting pleats. The two sets of pleats here are twisted in opposite directions. These three (15, 16, 17) were folded from 8 inch squares. I had used pleat twisting a few times before, for example in some pieces shown here and here, but always with flattened square twists. In the current pieces, the pleats are twisted one by one and their intersections are not opened up. Inspiration: Paul Jackson’s new book (Folding Techniques for Designers) and Christine Edison’s folding at the OUSA convention.
